"Is this supposed to be funny?"

Tyr Anasazi (by Barbarosa, out of Victoria) is the last surviving member of the Kodiak Pride. The rest of his pride was destroyed twenty years before events of the television series Andromeda. Nietzscheans are a subspecies of humans who follow the philosophy of Friederich Nietzsche and consider themselves genetically superior to other types of humans. Kodiak Pride bred specifically for physical superiority and we can only imagine that Tyr was a fine sample of what the pride had to offer. He is 6’4” and extremely well-built, has vision and a sense of smell beyond that of normal humans. He has bone blades in his forearms—a mark of his race (three spikes on his outer forearm each about six inches long. These can be hidden by long sleeves though he rarely wears them.)

Culturally, Nietzschean females choose the males best able to sire/care for children. Not having a pride to watch over him, Tyr must make a name for himself by proving himself physically superior. Tyr has one wife, Freya (Orca Pride), in the fifth episode, though he leaves her behind. She has had a son but he does not know this. (He enters the village from the space-time distortions during episode 212 Ouroboros [within the ship Andromeda Ascendant, space and time are being distorted by means of a machine Harper is using to try and rid his body of Magog eggs. At the end of season one/beginning of season two, Tyr himself was also infested. His superior strength and health meant that he could survive the strain removing the eggs placed on his system. Harper is not Nietzschean.])

Personality: Working with Captain Hunt and the rest of the Andromeda crew has slightly tempered his selfish ways. He is still the slowest of the crew to risk his life for others but will do so if prodded (risks his life to save Dylan’s in ep. 217, although that is after when he’ll be brought in.) He’ll lie, cheat, and steal if it will help him. He’s intelligent and sneaky, proud and arrogant although he will run from a fight if he looks to be losing. Better to run and live, Tyr is not a man who goes for the ‘honoroable death’ concept. He’s selfish and considers himself superior to just about everyone else, certainly to normal humans though he’s capable of being charming if he feels like it (or there is something to be gained from it.)
